Volunteer (Community Vision Leader)
We need people like you to help bring eye care to your community. Become a Community
Vision Leader (CVL) and make a big difference!
What is a Community Vision Leader?
A CVL is someone from the community who learns about eye health. After training, you help
others get their eyes checked and find the right care. You are like a friend who guides people to
see better.
Why is it Needed?
Many people, especially in places like Gajendra Nagar Slum, don’t know how to get eye care.
Over 1 billion people worldwide can’t see well because they don’t have help. In poor areas, 90%
of blindness can be stopped with simple checks. CVLs are needed to teach people, find those
who need help, and make sure they get treatment.
What Impact Will You Make?
Help More People: Your work can help thousands, like the 11,000 people checked at Jai
Bharat Nagar Centre or the 1,900 children at the Children’s Eye Care Centre.
• Stop Blindness: By guiding people to free camps and treatments, you can stop blindness
from cataracts, glaucoma, and other problems.
• Build a Strong Community: Training others to be CVLs creates a team that keeps helping
for years. In Gajendra Nagar, we plan to train 50 leaders to check 5,000 people in two years.
• Change Lives: Good vision gives people jobs, independence, and hope. Your help can
change someone’s life every day.
