Sight is one of our most vital senses — yet millions live without it unnecessarily.
Many people still don’t have access to quality eye care because of economic, geographic, or educational barriers.
The impact of blindness disproportionately affects the most vulnerable populations, perpetuating cycles of poverty and inequality.
A Global Crisis
Over 1 billion people worldwide do not have access to the eye care they need.Without change, this number will rise to 1.8 billion by 2050.90% of vision loss occurs in low- and middle-income communities.
Economic Impact
Restoring sight changes lives and livelihoods.Cataract surgery can raise household spending by 88% and lift 46% of families into a higher income racket.Clear vision is a pathway out of poverty.
Education & Children
Children with poor vision are up to 5 times less likely to attend school.Providing glasses can cut the odds of a child failing a class by nearly half.Better vision means better opportunities for the future.

Daily Affordable and Free Care
At our centre in Jai Bharat Nagar,
we offer:
Free screenings by senior optometrists (vision check, glasses power check, intraocular pressure, retina picture).
Doctor consultations with a nominal charge of ₹ 200/-
Monday to Saturday, 9am to 7pm

Outreach Camps
Bringing eye care to those who cannot reach us:
• School screenings – detecting problems early in children. In 2024, we screened 9390 children, and 6411 children as of August 2025.
• On-site dispensing of spectacles.
• In a recent camp conducted at Gajendra Nagar, 103 patients were screened, 35 given

From screening to surgery to post-operative follow-up — ensuring no patient is left midway.
Community Vision Leaders
Dr. Zamindar’s Eye Foundation has launched an awareness program by training Community Vision Leaders to spread knowledge about avoidable blindness.
These leaders are selected from neighborhoods with limited access to quality eye care and low awareness about eye health.

Our Journey
Zamindar Microsurgical Eye Centre was founded by Dr. Samina Zamindar, an ophthalmologist committed to making quality eye care affordable and accessible.
A Legacy of Vision Care: Our Milestones
We are glad to share our journey:

1996: Dr. Zamindar began offering eye care services through a mobile clinic on a scooter, reaching patients who had no access to such care.

1997: The mobile clinic transitioned to a clinic in Maruti Seva Nagar offering comprehensive eye care services.
- »
2003: Our first centre was established at Jai Bharat Nagar with an operation theatre for surgeries.
- »
2011: New state-of-the-art centre was established at HRBR Layout for cataract surgeries.
- »
2021: Specialty eyecare facilities were established for retina, glaucoma, cornea, and oculoplasty services.
- »
2024: Children’s Eye Centre was started with a dedicated Myopia Care Clinic and Vision Therapy Services.
- »
2025: Our complete adult OPD Block was inaugurated at 100ft Road, HRBR Layout. Zamindar Eye Foundation, a not-for-profit company was started.

Our Road Safety Initiative
Clear vision is essential for safe driving. Poor eyesight can lead to accidents that could have been prevented.
We provide:
• Free eye check-ups for all licensed drivers of autos, cabs, trucks, and other public transport vehicles.
• On-the-spot glasses dispensing for drivers who need them at affordable rates.
Why this matters:
• 60% of road accidents are linked to impaired vision.
• Unoperated cataract can increase accident risk by 2.5 times.
• 2 out of 3 people in India who need glasses either cannot afford them or do not have access to care.
Our goal is simple — clear vision for drivers, safer roads for everyone.
Senior Citizens Eye Care
Zamindar Microsurgical Eye Centre has partnered with Vayah Vikas to make quality eye care more affordable for seniors.
Through this collaboration, all senior citizens receive concessional rates across our services — from consultations and diagnostics to surgeries. The aim is to reduce financial barriers so that older adults can access timely treatment, preserve their independence, and enjoy a better quality of life.
Children’s Eye Care Initiative
Children see the world differently — and their eyes need care that grows with them. Good vision is vital for learning, reading, sports, and everyday activities. Detecting and treating problems early can make the difference between a lifetime of clear sight and one of avoidable vision loss.
At our Children’s Eye Centre at HRBR Layout, we offer:
• Comprehensive eye exams for children from birth onwards.
• Early detection and treatment for conditions such as amblyopia (lazy eye – weaker vision in one eye) and strabismus (crossed eyes
• eyes not aligned properly).
• Specialized clinics including a Myopia Clinic for short-sightedness and Vision Therapy for depth perception, eye movement, or focusing difficulties.
